Out-of-control ‘controlled’ burn A Lake Bird landowner burned down their own barn Sunday after losing control of a “controlled” burn they were conducting themselves on their property. When Taylor County Fire-Rescue firefighters arrived on the scene at 5:16 p.m., “the barn was completely on the ground.” Although no other structures were involved in the fire, the barn was a total loss.
