OVERDUE PAYMENTS DELAY CARGO ARRIVAL IN COOKS Submitted by admin on Thu, 04/05/2012 - 00:00 Confusion over subsidies keeps Samoan vessel at port By Eric Parnis RAROTONGA, Cook Islands (Cook Islands News, April 4, 2012) – A Samoan ship is expected to depart for the Cook Islands’ northern group today after late payments and bad weather delayed the ship last month. The vessel, part of the Samoan Shipping Company’s fleet, was originally due to set sail about March 22 but as of yesterday its first voyage to the Cook Islands as part of a new shipping scheme was still yet to begin. Adverse weather meant it was too risky to sail to the northern group of islands with its cargo of fuel and petrol aboard.
