Overwatch could be getting public custom matches soon Overwatch game director Jeff Kaplan has revealed an interest in allowing players to create custom matches that are open to the public. “We’re very interested in the concept of enabling players to make custom games open to the public. We have time scheduled to explore this and we’re pretty excited about it,” Kaplan said in a forum post. As of now, custom matches in Overwatch allow players to customize their matches from choosing maps and modes to tweaking Hero ability cooldowns. Currently, players can only invite people on their friends lists and fill in empty spots with AI.
