Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail ( pic) said the approval by the state executive council on Friday (Jan 8) would bring the total allocation amount to RM11mil. "With the additional allocation channelled to the state Social Welfare Department (JKM), it is hoped that the welfare of the flood victims throughout the state can continue to be protected. "To date, JKM itself has spent about RM3.4mil, of which a large portion of about RM2.9mil has been used for the purchase of daily necessities for flood victims at evacuation centres," he said on Sunday (Jan 10). Apart from that, Wan Rosdy said about RM434,000 had been spent on expenses for the daily needs of flood victims in disconnected areas, RM19,748 was distributed to district Social Welfare Offices and about RM16,900 to the flood operations control centre.
