Pakistan reports over 4,000 new Covid-19 cases for second day * Positivity ratio in Karachi exceeds 30% * NCOC sets Aug 31 deadline for students, government employees and LEAs to get vaccinated July 30, 2021 For the second consecutive day, Pakistan reported more than 4,000 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, data from the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) showed. The national tally of total active Covid-19 cases was recorded at 59761 with 4,497 more people testing positive for the deadly virus on Thursday. At least 76 patients died on Thursday, of whom 70 were under treatment in hospitals and six in their respective quarantines or homes, according to the latest update issued by the NCOC. On Thursday, most of the deaths occurred in Sindh followed by Punjab. Out of total 76 deaths, 37 died on ventilators during their treatment. The maximum ventilators were occupied in four major areas including Karachi 17 percent, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 42 percent, Peshawar 19 percent and Lahore 20 percent.
