Improved electric motor output and increased battery capacity promised in next model. Mitsubishi Motors has announced a revised version of its Outlander plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a new-generation hybrid system. The vehicle will be available in the U.S. in the second half of 2022. The new model will offer improved electric motor output and increased battery capacity over the current model, resulting in more powerful road performance and greater driving range. Based on a newly developed Outlander platform, new integrated components and an optimized layout allow the new model to accommodate seven passengers in three rows, which is unique in a compact-sized plug-in hybrid SUV.
