Parking scam: Thousands of drivers risk 'exposing' payment d

The council warned victims have lost thousands of pounds from the new fraud which swallows drivers cards from machines.
The council warned it was impossible for a normal pay and display machines to swallow cards.
This was because the devices are manufactured to only allow cards to fit only a part of the way into the machine so they can be easily removed.
Late last year Kingston Council also revealed they had uncovered a scam involving parking machines in the area.

They warned criminals had attached devices to the machine which was used to obtain card information and steal money from drivers accounts.
