Paterson NJ DPW supervisors paid for 60 hours of snowstorm overtime


PATERSON — The city's two deputy public works directors are getting overtime for about 60 consecutive hours apiece during the major snowstorm that hit the region earlier this month, according to municipal payroll records.
Deputy Director Manny Ojeda put in for overtime for 63 straight hours — from 5 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, straight through until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, the records show.
After that, payroll records show Ojeda continued working another 40 hours — including 17 for his regular shifts on Wednesday and Thursday and 23 hours of additional overtime.
The city’s other deputy DPW director, Steve Howe, put in for 59.5 consecutive overtime hours between Jan. 31 and Feb. 3, the records show. Howe then put in for another 15.5 hours of overtime on Feb. 3 and Feb. 4, in addition to his two regular 8.5-hour shifts, the records show.
