Berlin_Freeper My impression of the McCartney stuff in the early years following the break-up of The Beatles was that it was mostly insipid, and I think John Lennon agreed. I don't think that their (The Beatles) music - inventive as it was - has aged well, but it seems obvious to me that Lennon and McCartney were better as a team than as solo performers and writers. They seemed to be a corrective to each other's worst tendencies - McCartney's schmaltz and Lennon's aggressive roughness and nastiness.
