PBA Board insists Kiefer Ravena's Japan stint may set bad precedent enablePagination: false endIndex: Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, June 6) – The Philippine Basketball Association Board emphasized that allowing NLEX Road Warriors star Kiefer Ravena to play professionally in Japan while he is under a live contract may set a bad precedent for the local and international basketball community. Elaborating further on their decision to bar Ravena to play in the Japan B.League, PBA Chairman Ricky Vargas insisted that the former Ateneo standout must honor his contract with NLEX before making a move overseas. "Breaking the rule of contracts or the rule of law, at this point in time, is going to be a difficult precedent not only for us, the PBA, but as well as for FIBA (International Basketball Federation). FIBA deems the contracts of the players sacrosanct as well," Vargas said.
