LAHORE: The Lahore Tax Bar Association secretary has asked the Punjab Bar Council (PbBC) to hold verification of the educational credentials of the bar president. In a letter written to the chairman of the executive committee of the provincial council, LTBA Secretary Rana Kashif Walayat alleged that Ali Ahsan Rana, who has recently been elected as president of the tax bar, procured his legal practice licence on the basis of a “fake degree” of LLB. The secretary alleged that Mr Rana never did his matriculation, intermediate and graduation, while the degrees possessed by him did not belong to him in fact.
