PDRM relaxes BM rule in bid to attract more recruits

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has bent the rules to allow non-bumiputra recruits without a credit in Bahasa Melayu in their Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination to join the force.
The special intake for the position of Police Constable Grade YA1 – involving non-bumiputras as well as Orang Asli Constable Grade YP1 for the community – will be carried out from March 18 to 31 via https://epengambilanpdrm.rmp.gov.my.
Bukit Aman Management Department director Datuk Ramli Din said the special recruitment exercise would allow those without a credit in Bahasa Melayu to apply.
“Priority will be given to non-bumiputra applicants who can speak and write Mandarin, Tamil or other mother tongues, ” he said.
