3:06 PM MYT KOTA KINABALU: Two New Year's Day revellers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol along with 18 others for various traffic offences in the Penampang district. Penampang district police chief Deputy Supt Haris Ibrahim said under Ops Ambang Tahun Baru 2021, police also issued compounds to 30 individuals for failing to observe the standard operating procedure (SOP) to check the spread of Covid-19 in the state. The number of compounds issued during this operation was the highest since the conditional movement control order (MCO) was imposed in October last year. He said police set up two roadblocks on main roads in the district and also carried out patrols at housing estates, along beaches as well as entertainment and food outlets in the district.
