The crash happened at around 3:45 a.m. Thursday just west of the Texas State Capitol building. The trooper was heading northbound on Colorado Street and as he was turning left on 13th Street, the trooper hit the pedestrian. DPS said the crash happened while the trooper was patrolling the area.
