Person killed in crash near Shaw AFB Fatal crashes in Sumter County By WIS News 10 Staff | April 21, 2021 at 12:25 PM EDT - Updated April 21 at 8:11 PM SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - A person was killed in a single-car crash in Sumter near Shaw Air Force Base, officials confirmed. It happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on Beckwood Road. That’s off Camden Highway near Broad Street. The driver of a car ran off the road and into a ditch, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said. That person died at the scene of the crash. He or she has not yet been identified.
