Our region is getting $1.9 million dollars to help municipalities deal with the impact of COVID-19.
The announcement is part of the province’s $500 million investment to help ensure the stability of Ontario’s 444 municipalities as they plan for the year ahead.
Here is a break down of local funding:
-Township of Douro-Dummer $66,693
-Township of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen $79,595
-City of Peterborough $1,109,427
-County of Peterborough $442,135
-Township of Selwyn $158,809
-Municipality of Trent Lakes $126,480
-Township of North Kawartha $71,836
Funding can be spent on things like PPE, cleaning supplies, by-law enforcement and purchasing online meeting tools to support remote council meetings.
Selwyn Mayor Andy Mitchell says as the Pandemic continues into 2021, the support of the provincial government is essential in continuing services to ratepayers and the Township appreciates this important investment.
