Prospective candidates have until 31 March to apply for the University of Pretoria’s newest master’s course. The UP’s new master’s programme is the first cross-disciplinary degree in South Africa that addresses insolvency and related issues in this country. ABOUT THE MASTER’S COURSE The university’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences (EMS), with UP’s Faculty of Law, launched the new degree in insolvency and business rescue. This master’s course aimed at professionals who want to further their studies while still working at their respective organisations. “The insolvency industry is changing rapidly around the world, with greater emphasis being placed on recovery as opposed to traditional winding down,” Dr Wesley Rosslyn-Smith of UP’s business management department said.
