PLAINFIELD - A veteran Thompson firefighter and deputy fire marshal has been selected as Plainfield’s new fire marshal. Constantino Galasso will also serve as the town’s emergency management director and burning inspector, First Selectman Kevin Cunningham said. “Of the applicants we got for the position, he rose above,” Cunningham said. “He was already certified and his work as a deputy fire marshal meant he knew the job coming in.” Galasso will take over for long-serving fire marshal Paul Yellen who formally retired in February, but agreed to stay on in an interim basis until his replacement was named.
