The new plaque has been welcomed by the Mayor of Barrow, Cllr Helen Wall. The council’s lead member for heritage and wildlife said: “This family of geese have clearly touched someone’s heart. “I think it shows a great a sensitivity that someone actually wanted to put the plaque there and commemorate these geese. “It is a really nice thing to do. “It would be good to put a sign up there to remind people that geese do cross in that area. “It shows that we are a community that cares about our wildlife.” Earlier this month on 12 May, the family of geese were killed by a driver while crossing Wilkie Road, Barrow..
