GUWAHATI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday address a rally for the upcoming assembly elections at the historic Jerenga Pathar in Sivasagar district, where sati Joymoti Konwari had set an example with her message of righteousness more than 300 years back. “The rally from the historic field, which sets an example of true patriotism, will convey a message about the BJP’s commitment on the principles of truthfulness and selfless attitude, for which Joymoti was known. It also implies that the party’s relentless efforts to protect the greater Assamese community and to establish peace and tranquility in society fighting against the enemies of the state,” Rupam Goswami, chief spokesperson of the state BJP, told TOI.
