Prime Minister Andrew Holness with awardees at a previous National Youth Awards for Excellence. For the first time in its more than 20-year history, the Prime Minister’s National Youth Awards for Excellence will be aired virtually because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony will be broadcast on Television Jamaica this Sunday, December 13 beginning at 5:05 pm. Some 68 nominees in 12 categories have been shortlisted. “As the number one resource for the future, it is imperative that we celebrate the positive efforts and outcomes of our young people as they make a difference in their communities, often without compensation or fanfare,” said Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
