SunStar + July 09, 2021 THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has launched its enhanced anti-cybercrime campaign, which aims to strengthen the fight against crimes committed through online platforms amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic. PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group Director Robert Rodriguez said extortion and financial fraud via internet have increased since the Covid-19 pandemic started. “Before the pandemic, the highest was cyber libel but in 2020, noong nagkaroon na ng pandemic, naunahan po ng financial fraud o scam,” he said. This has prompted the PNP to come up with an intensified anti-cybercrime platform dubbed Enhanced Anti Cybercrime Campaign, Education, Safety And Security, or E-Access, at cybercrimewatch.pnp.gov.ph
