Published May 15, 2021, 3:24 PM Top officials of both the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) are set to meet to fill up gaps and iron out weaknesses in the procedure on coordination and interoperability between the two law enforcement agencies after another ‘miscoordination’ occurred between their ground operatives on Friday, May 14, in Quezon City. PNP Chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said he and PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva will lead the top-level meeting expected to be held at Camp Crame in Quezon City. “Illegal drugs syndicates are taking advantage of the weaknesses or gaps in the rules of procedure on coordination and inter-operations between the PNP and the PDEA. Kasama ang PDEA, ito ang tututukan natin ngayon para maiwasan na maulit pa (Together with PDEA, we will focus o this to prevent the repeat of the incident),” said Eleazar.
