JAKARTA, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Police in the Indonesian province of West Kalimantan have arrested a Malaysian man for allegedly trying to traffic crystal methamphetamine in the region.
The suspect was arrested at a restaurant in Sajingan Besar area in Sambas district. One kilogram of crystal methamphetamine, known locally as shabu-shabu, hidden inside a soft drink can was confiscated from the 40-year-old man, Sambas Police chief Robertus Bellarminus Pratikno said in a statement on Friday, as reported by state news agency Antara.
"It is suspected that the suspect (identified as) Li was waiting for, or going to give the illegal item to a supplier who plans to distribute it in Sambas," Pratikno said, adding that investigators have also seized cash and a mobile phone from the suspect who has been targeted by the police.
