Dimapur, Oct. 31 (EMN): Nagaland Police, 173Bn CRPF and a host of government departments and institutions observed ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas‘ (National Unity Day) on Monday to commemorate the 147th birth anniversary of ‘Iron man of India’ Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. Nagaland Police: Nagaland Police (NP) observed Rashtryia Ekta Diwas at conference hall, PHQ Kohima, where DGP, T John Longkumer, in his address stated that Rashtryia Ekta Diwas was introduced by the Government of India to instill unity among the citizens of India. NP in an update informed Longkumer stated that the police in India have contributed immensely towards various internal security challenges and are an integral part and instrumental in maintaining unity of the country. And in recognition of the galvanising role played by police, the Government of India declared the period falling between October 21 to the 31st as ‘Police Flag Day’ celebration, the DGP said.
