According to police, at about 11:48 p.m. on Friday, Maplewood Public Safety responded to Gethsemane Park on a report that the playground equipment was on fire. The Maplewood Fire Department put the fire out, and there were no reported injuries. Two juveniles were seen running from the park at the time of the fire. However, no description of the juveniles was given. The fire caused extensive damage to the main play structure. A preliminary investigation suggests the incident may have been the result of arson, authorities said.
