Police justified in shooting at man during hour-long motorwa

The incident occurred when police detectives located the wanted man in Blockhouse Bay in October 2018.
He had escaped from Waitakere District Court during an appearance on several charges, including aggravated robbery (with a firearm), wounding with intent to injure and assaulting police.
The man fired a shotgun at police in his attempts to escape and was swerving at high-speed in between traffic, the report stated. There was one other man in the Audi with him.
The Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) was called and the two officers involved in the investigation fired four shots at a man as he fled.
