Early Saturday morning, a citizen heard someone calling for help south of Circle Park on the west side of Parsons. Parsons police responded at 4:41 a.m. and found Andrew Scott, 18, of Parsons in a ditch near 35th Street and Southern Avenue. Scott had multiple injuries, according to a release from Parsons police. Officers rendered aid and called for Labette Health Ambulance Service. Scott was taken to Labette Health for treatment of critical injuries. Scott was then flown by helicopter to Freeman Hospital in Joplin. His sister reported on social media that Scott is stable and remains in the intensive care unit at Freeman.
