Ujjal Hossain Khan, assistant sub-inspector of Rayerbazar Police Outpost, was receiving treatment at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital with bullet wounds in his right leg. Walid Hossain, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said the incident took place when a police team carried out a drive to arrest a drug trader around 9:30am near the police outpost. Police arrested Ibrahim Chowdhury and recovered a firearm and 200 pieces of yaba pills from his possession, the DC said.
