Police: Pedestrian injured in Bridgeport hit and run Saul Flores FacebookTwitterEmail BRIDGEPORT - Officers are investigating a hit-and-run crash early Sunday that injured a city man on Boston Avenue, police said. A pedestrian, later identified as Alvin Nieves, was struck by a vehicle while walking on the roadway at 520 Boston Ave., around 2:13 a.m., officials said. The vehicle, a dark-colored Jeep Wranger, was traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Boston Avenue when it struck Nieves. After the vehicle hit Nieves, it continued eastbound on Boston Avenue without stopping, officials said. Medics responded to the scene and reported that Nieves sustained severe injures to both legs. He was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital where he is in stable condition, officials said.
