HUNTINGTON â Police are still investigating after two bodies were discovered in a Guyandotte home Monday evening. Huntington Police Chief Ray Cornwell said officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of 5th Avenue in Guyandotte around 6:45 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, the responding officers found the bodies of two people who had died from apparent gunshot wounds. Patrol officers, detectives and forensics investigators soon followed to begin processing the scene and interviewing witnesses. The investigation is ongoing into the circumstances surrounding the incident, and detectives are working to positively identify the victims so families can be notified. âNo names are being released at this time pending positive identifications and family notifications,â Cornwell said Tuesday. âThis aside, the investigation is ongoing, and we have nothing further to add at this time.â
