Photo: RNZ / Richard Tindiller A pedestrian was hit by a car on Sandringham Rd shortly before 4am. The vehicle didn't stop and left the scene, police said. It has yet to be located. Detective Inspector Uraia Vakaruru said the pedestrian was transported to Auckland Hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition. Vakaruru said in a statement police would like to hear from anyone who has information which could help, and asked them to call Auckland City Crime Squad on 09 302 6557. Meanwhile, police attended the scene of a serious crash between a car and a motorbike in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty this afternoon.
