MYSURU: The city police shut hundreds of shops involved in providing non-essential services like jewelleries, cloth stores, mobile shops, etc in the city on Thursday.
Major roads of the city including New Sayyaji Rao road, D Devaraja Urs road, KT Street etc wore a deserted look as the police asked the shop owners to remained closed.
The police informed that the action has been taken as per the order issued by the state government.
The businessmen were taken aback by the police intervention as they were not aware of the government decision.
