POPUMC Hiking Group: 4 Mile Loop Hike at Locust Shade Park, Triangle, VA The next day hike for the POPUMC Hiking Group will be on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Locust Shade Park, 4701 Locust Shade DR, Triangle, VA,703-792-7060. This is scheduled to be a moderate 4 mile loop hike within this park. However, they have built some new trails in this park over the previous fall and winter. So we may have to improvise this plan. As usual, we will meet at the rear parking lot of Prince of Peace United Methodist Church, 6299 Token Forest DR, Manassas, VA 20112 and be ready to depart by by 8:00 AM sharp. We should hopefully arrive at Locust Shade Park by around 8:20 AM and be on the trail by 8:30 AM. For those wishing to meet us at the park, the approximate GPS coordinates for the parking lot meeting place are 38.535791, -77.349398 . This should be the large parking lot just past the first set of restrooms that you pass entering the park. We plan to hike the series of loops in this park counter clockwise. At our 2018 hike we were done by 10:40. Our plans may be subject to change as the park has added new trails since we last hiked here in 2018.
