Ngā Ara Tipuna project coordinator Chris Hay says the palisade construction for the Pukekaihau Pā is being led by carving tutor Conrad Nepe Apatu, who was helped by two Central Hawke’s Bay College students to collect 35 of the 350 two-metre poles needed for the job. Six sites around Waipukurau will feature in the project, marked by pou made from corten steel and other features.
