Top Story March 12, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Committee on Energy was informed on Thursday that the technical problems had resulted into countrywide breakdown of power on January 9 this year. The committee inquired whether all those were penalised who were responsible for such earlier fiasco or no action was taken against them. A meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy (CCOE) was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar here in Islamabad on Thursday. The Power Division presented the report of the inquiry into the power outage across the country on January 9, 2021. A detailed briefing was made to the committee on the technical reasons which led to the countrywide breakdown. The Power Division informed the committee that three separate inquiry reports had clearly proved that the incident at the Guddu Power Complex was a trigger point that led to the breakdown of the entire power system.
