Once the fire gets the green light, it gets going, and it goes quickly. Nate Sterns is the Burn Boss of this fire in Green Timbers West. He explains why we are starting in this spot. “This is the east end and its a corner here, and we can get squirrelly winds sometimes, with the terrain,” said Sterns. “We want to make sure this is good and black before we move on and it doesn’t escape the line and endangers the private land.”
