View Comments For more than five decades, June has been celebrated as Pride Month filled with parades, parties, protests, lectures, performances and events focused on celebrating equality, justice, diversity and strength of the LGBTQIA+ community. This year two community members are putting a Proud Market together at the Bay Jewel Event Center on Friday, June 18. From the ticket sales for this market, 10% will be donated to the Trevor Project, an organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention to the LGBT youth and community. The market will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $10. Veronica Guerra, owner of Trendy Eats & Vegan Treats, said she wanted to start this market because she had a hard time growing up being a bisexual woman.
