Prince George firefighter James Gunn says the best part of this summer is now. Gunn is at Burn Camp 2003 near Squamish for a week-long adventure with young burn victims. The 11-year-veteran of the Prince George department says this is a return visit for him, and his volunteer work there is one of those feel-good adventures he would never miss. “It’s really rewarding for me personally to see these kids, some of them very shy and withdrawn, come out of their shell,” said the 37-year-old father of four. “On the last day you see the kids with all the smiles, and you just hope they can keep positive like that until next year.”
