The top-ranked College Heights Cougars have a higher position on the provincial top-10 list. The second-seeded Duchess Park Condors have a history of success in volleyball.
Not to be overlooked are the DP Todd Trojans, a dark horse to steal one of the two berths to provincials.
The eight-team North Central District double-A boys volleyball zone championship runs today and tomorrow at College Heights Secondary School. The host Cougars and Condors are the favourites to meet in the championship match. Although a consolation bracket ensures each team will play three matches, there’s only one, single-elimination route to the zone title.
