Presidents of two Probus Clubs in Belleville plus others in the Quinte area, elected in September are watching their terms spin without meetings as a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
One club particularly, the Probus Club of Quinte, had made extensive plans to mark its 20th anniversary last November, including a special speaker, but these had to be scrapped, new president Jim Woodnough says.
The history of the club, as compiled by club historian Elizabeth Mitchell, started on Nov. 2, 2000, making it a true “millennial” organization. Interest was so strong that a general meeting a few days later on the 16th resulted in its formation.
