The procedural battle at the Heritage committee over the government’s long-promised reform of the federal broadcasting regime to cover online streaming giants like Netflix is not — in any way, shape, or form — evidence of a critical malfunction in the machinery of Parliament. In fact, it’s precisely the way our system of parliamentary checks and balances is supposed to work.
