Three protesters suffered heatstroke and fatigue symptoms after locking themselves to machinery at a Central Queensland quarry. Alexander Braham Bloom, 32, Leon Walker Pateman, 23, and Pia Pascual Truslove, 33, each used a sleeping dragon attachment device to halt operations at Bravus Mining and Resources’ (Adani) quarry, located about 160km north of Clermont. Police arrived at 9am and told them to release but they refused to do so in efforts to protest their views against Bravus. Sgt Cramp said police needed to cut off the devices with care, which required certain equipment that didn’t arrive at the site until midday. Clermont Magistrates Court.
