New Brunswick has its first confirmed case of the Indian variant. “With the arrival of this more aggressive variant, now more than ever, New Brunswickers must be vigilant and follow all Public Health measures to reduce the spread and protect our health-care system,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health. The case was previously reported in Zone 3, the Fredericton region. The province also declared an outbreak on the UNB Fredericton campus. As of Monday afternoon, the outbreak involved six cases at Magee House, an apartment-style residence. Public Health revealed seven new cases of COVID-19 on Monday in Zones 2, 3 and 4.
