PTI grabs 25 seats to form govt in AJK July 27, 2021 MUZAFFARABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaaf (PTI) has clinched majority by securing 25 seats out of 44 to form government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) followed by PPP which obtained 11 seats and PML-N 8 seats In Legislative Assembly while two seats, one grabbed by Jammu Kashmir People’s Party (JK-PP) and other by Muslim Conference (MC). Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Retired Abdul Rasheed Sulehria announced party position while addressing a press conference here Monday at the central control room. CEC said that results of 44 seats out of 45 were announced by the Commission as provided by the Returning Officers (ROs) concerned while result on one seat, LA-16 BaghIII, was upheld by the Commission on a report by the concerned RO that polling on 4 polling stations was not conducted due to clashes between rival groups. Sulehria, while expressing satisfaction over the fairness of the polling process, revealed that the turnout was recorded 62 percent which was 3 percent less than the last general elections held in 2016 in the region. He claimed that he didn’t receive even a single complaint by any candidate about irregularity or rigging in the poll. He said polling on remaining 4 polling stations of LA-16 BaghIII will be conducted before 29th July.
