But Mayor Janice Jackson said Wednesday that there is some misunderstanding in the community about what the meeting was for. She said the developer – Waterloo-based Maison Canada Design & Build – doesn’t require any zoning changes to move ahead with the hotel on the vacant property at 119 Lakeshore Blvd. N., which is already zoned commercial. The meeting was held because the developer required a zoning amendment for an adjacent property at 122 Second Ave. N., which currently houses two cottages.
