Prisma Health presented its annual report to the organization that oversees the system's lease and a group of Greenville lawmakers Friday afternoon. During the annual review of the system by Greenville Health Authority — the organization left behind when Prisma Health, formerly the Greenville Health System, transitioned into a private nonprofit organization — a number of topics were brought up including access to care in the north Greenville area. Prisma reported a quantifiable community benefit of over $527 million — an increase of over $62 million from the previous year — and touted its pandemic response, which includes providing personal protective equipment and ventilators to nearly 100 healthcare entities, providing 15% of testing in the state, treating a third of the state's hospitalized COVID-19 patients and completing over 200,000 vaccinations to date.
