As per Central Pollution Control Board specifications, the permissible sound level (dB) in a silent zone during the day is 50 dB and during the night time is 40 dB. In the case of residential areas, the permissible limits are 55 dB for the day and 45 dB during the night. The permissible noise level for industrial areas is 74 dB during the day and 70 dB during the night.
