Created: February 04, 2021 05:39 PM For the last 24 years, Beverly Bardequez has called Rapp Road in Albany home. Moving here was a coming home of sorts. She spent much of her childhood there, too. "My grandparents settled here in 1944," said Bardequz. "On weekends and holidays and summer, all the grandchildren, we spent our time here." A historically black community, Rapp Road is designated a State and National Historic Site. Twenty-three families originally settled here. Beverly is one of the only four original families that still lives here. However, on Wednesday night, the very history that lives on the street came under attack Zoombombers hacked a Council of Albany Neighborhood Associations virtual meeting while Beverly was speaking.
