Tender for the 7 MLD capacity plant, being installed at the cost of Rs 19 crore, has already been issued RAJKOT: Raiya is set to get its first-ever tertiary treatment plant (TTP) to treat sewage water and make it usable for non-potable activities of the residents of the smart city including washing clothes, vehicles and also for flushing. While the tender for the 7 MLD capacity plant, being installed at the cost of Rs 19 crore, has already been issued, the TTP is likely to start operation by 2022 end. Tertiary treatment removes suspended solid and turbidity from the waste water automatically reducing its biological oxygen demand (BOD) level and also eliminates the stench, explained an official. BOD is the amount of oxygen required by the micro-organisms in the stabilization of organic matter in the wastewater effluents.
